Homework (March 24-26), 2014

There were two parts to the homework tonight:

The Chapter 7 Test is tomorrow. Here is the Review we did in class. I made sure it was corrected and given back to the student before they went home. Their assignment is to have their parents go over the parts they missed. Most of them are still struggling with fractions. I know that might be a concern. It is with me, but I also realize this is the first time fractions have been introduced at such a level, we will be reviewing these parts again before the test. Hardest part = Equivalent Fractions. 1/2 is the same as 3/6, 4/8, 8/16, and so on. But what would be a fraction that is the same as 3/4? That is where all third graders are stuck. We will get through it, and then sometime this summer when they are out playing it will hit them and they will get it! I PROMISE!

Unit 7 Review & Test

The second part of the homework is in preparation for the End-of-Year-Test. This is a placement test, and I would like to see where the students are in relation to what they should have learned from me the teacher. This placement test will be on two pages. One tonight, and one tomorrow. This will allow me to find any holes or parts they just don't understand.
